John F. Paquette
Managing Partner/Director of Administration and Planning
In this role, John is responsible for coordinating/leading the long-term strategic planning, including growth and direction, of the company, as well as managing its overall administrative functions, and developing/improving its policies, processes and procedures. In addition, John remains active in the role of senior management systems consultant, including system implementations, auditing, training and general consulting.
Prior to co-founding Phoenix Consulting Group, John had a successful career, bringing with him over thirty-four years experience in business management and finance, including the last seven years as partner, along with his wife Cathy, of their own management system consulting firm, Phoenix Business Services (2011 – 2018).
During this time, John held various positions in addition to his roles in finance and operational management, including Director of Human Resources, Coordinator of IT Systems, and Materials Manager, within retail, wholesale and manufacturing business environments. His manufacturing experience, in particular, included companies whose processes involved metal stamping, electroplating, powder coating, heat treating, forging, welding, electronic equipment manufacturing and a variety of manual and automated assembly techniques.
Since first being introduced to quality management in 1995, John has been actively involved in developing and implementing new management systems, consulting and training of new and existing systems, implementation and training of quality software, and internal auditing, of many of the major ISO standards.
John graduated from St. Clair College in Chatham, Ontario from the Business-Accounting program. John has successfully completed ISO 9001:2008 and 2015 Internal Auditor training, WHMIS Instructor training, Forklift Safety training, and the IAPA Certification Parts One and Two JHSC (Health & Safety) program.
Cathy Paquette
Managing Partner/Director of H&S, Training and Customer Service
In this multi-faceted role, Cathy is responsible for overseeing the various Training services offered by the company, such as First Aid/CPR, Forklift Safety, WHMIS, and Internal Auditing, including facilitating these services with the customer. This also involves coordinating all Health & Safety services offered, including management system implementations, auditing, training and general consulting. Her Customer Service role with the company, which includes both incoming and outgoing communication with the customer, has become increasingly integral to the ongoing success of Phoenix Consulting Group. In addition, Cathy contributes to the long-term, strategic planning of the company, particularly in the areas of Health & Safety, Training services, and Customer Service.
Prior to co-founding Phoenix Consulting Group, Cathy had a successful career including as partner, along with her husband John, of their own management system consulting firm, Phoenix Business Services (2011 – 2018).
Cathy graduated from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario from the Legal Administration program. Cathy is a Red Cross-certified First Aid/CPR instructor, and has also successfully completed ISO 9001:2008 and 2015 Internal Auditor training, Forklift Safety training, and WHMIS Instructor training.

Matthew Paquette
Managing Partner/Director of Consulting Operations
In this role, Matthew is responsible for overseeing the daily core activities of the company, ensuring that they operate efficiently and effectively. This involves management system implementations, auditing, training and general consulting. In addition, Matthew provides Lead Auditing services, certified through a local registrar. He also contributes to the long-term, strategic planning of the company, particularly in the area of Consulting services.
Prior to co-founding Phoenix Consulting Group, Matthew had a successful career including owner/operator of his own management system consulting firm, Superior Quality Management Systems, as well as, over four years experience in manufacturing, in both administrative and production environments. His manufacturing experience included a pivotal role in the administration/achievement of an ISO certification, as well as inspection/traceability responsibilities within a major tier one automotive parts manufacturer.
In performing his roles as a management system consultant, and as a lead auditor, Matthew combines his administrative and shop floor experiences with his effective Quality Management education and his natural, hands-on aptitude.
Matthew is certified as an ISO Lead Auditor. He has also successfully completed the Quality Management Certificate program from the University of Manitoba (endorsed by the Manitoba Section of the American Society for Quality - ASQ), along with ISO 9001:2008 and 2015 Internal Auditor training, Forklift Safety training, WHMIS Instructor training, and First Aid/CPR training.
John G. Paquette
Managing Partner / Director of Information Technology
In this role, John is responsible for overseeing the network administration and information systems of Phoenix Consulting Group, including the planning, organizing, and execution of the IT functions necessary to meet the needs and goals of the company, and if necessary, the customer. This includes the development of all in-house software programs utilized by operations, as well as the maintenance and support of all IT assets within the company. In addition, John contributes to the long-term, strategic planning of the company, particularly in the area of Information Technology.
Prior to co-founding Phoenix Consulting Group, John had a successful career including, for many years, owner/operator of his own firm, JGP Computer Services. This included valuable experience in network administration, computer repair and maintenance, software and website development, and customer service. His software development experience, in particular, included the development of the process flow-based quality management system currently used as the foundation of the ISO services employed by the company.
John has successfully completed ISO 9001:2008 and 2015 Internal Auditor training.
